Different | negative message ID

I am using net4.5 framework and i am using msmq. My intention is to store a message inside msmq for a short period of time,
then extract the message ID and put it inside database in order to laocate the message inside msmq .
So, when i get this messageid and put it in a variable of type string, i print it and i see the outout as GUID\-xxx
where the message id is negative and different from the one i see for the specific message through computer management.
What is wrong and what can i do to take the real one message id ( the one i see through Computer Management )
