Hi,
I have some XP clients with the messages getting stuck in the outgoing
queue, we have to re-start the msmq service on the server (Win2003) thats
receiving the messages in-order to re-establish the connection.

This is occuring more frequently, does anyone know the cause of this and how
to fix?

Thanks,

John Breakwell

Hi J.

Its a bit difficult to say from the problem description you have described.

1 Are the queues on the server transactional or non-transactional?
2 How many messages are on the server when problems occur (Performance
Monitor, MSMQ Service, Total messages in all queues)
3 How many clients? Are all clients equally affected?
4 The outgoing queue status is "waiting to connect", yes? Is the "next
hop" IP address correct?
5 If the problem is more frequent, what is changing? Are you sending more
messages or using more clients, for examples?
6 How long have you left the MSMQ service on the server to see if
messages do eventually get through?

Cheers
John Breakwell (MSFT)
