problems with MSMQ over HTTPS

I'm trying to send a message from my computer to a server on the same
network.
HTTP works fine; when i switch to HTTPS, i get a 404 error in the http
log. I have found that it's looking for a folder with the same name as
the queue i'm trying to reach, in c:\windows\system32\msmq. If i
create a folder in there, such as c:\windows\system32\msmq\testqueue,
i get a "200 5 0" status entry in the http log.
But i shouldn't have to add subfolders to the msmq folder. What am i
doing wrong?
