I just bought lifechat headset and was able to install the software but when
prompted to plug in the usb conector I get New found hardware wizard which
tries to find drivers for this headset but fails to install anything and
headset wont work. As I understand it this should not happen as it should
be plug and play. Widdows xp home.sp3 75.5 gb free 512mb ram

I think I have the same problem - I just installed Vista on a new HDD and
can't get my LifeChat LX-3000 headset to work. The driver installation
prompts me to install Live Messenger (which I have), but the "Next" button
never gets enabled. When I plug the headset in Vista tells me I have
unrecognized hardware. Basically it doesn't work!

I also am having problems. In my case Live Messenger was installed but while
LiveChat is being installed, the installation stops with an error message
(which I saved and would attach if I could) saying that either I ran out of
memory (it can't be that, I checked all drives and plenty of space on each)
or some other (unspecified) error occurred. How helpful is that? ... OK
rhetorical question. Next question - not so rhetorical - so what now?

I am also having trouble with lifechat 3000.
My computer doesn
t recognise it through the USB - to the extent that even though I've
installed and un-installed and installed the drivers many times and restarted
my computer many times, it won't recognise it.

It doesn't even show up as an option in the audio settings from the control
panel.

I can't hear any sound from the headphones, and no sound is picked up from
the mic. The sound only comes out of my computer speakers.

I have Windows XP sp2 with well over the required space needed for it to work.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

I am running XP Home SP3 on a HP Compaq 2.6G Celeron wirh 2 GB Ram

I have installed the Lifechat software however whenever I plug the headset
in widows detects it but goes looking for drivers which it never finds, even
if the cd is in the drive. When I look at the device manager it tells me that
no drivers are installed and I cannot find drivers for it.

The headset works fine as my partner it able to use it on their Vista laptop
without problems.
