Got an Arc Mouse. Plugged in the transceiver. The Found New Hardware window
popped up with the following options:
1) Locate and Install drier software
2) Ask me again later
3) Don't show this message again

Choose Option 1: asks for disk. I tell it I don't have it. Get options
a) Check for a solution (useless)
b) Browse my computer

Choose (b) - installs 'USB human interface device' and mouse doesn't work

Choose Options (2) or (3) above and 'Microsoft 2.4GHz Transceiver v5.0"
appears in device manager under 'other devices' but the properties -> general
tab indicates 'no driver selected for the device..." and the mouse doesn't
work.

The odd thing is, if I do a system restore, boot with the mouse transceiver
plugged in, the mouse works until I make one of the choices on the Found New
Hardware window.

Help?

Thanks!

Have you tried downloading the latest software drivers from the Microsoft
Hardware site? I'd install that and then plug the mouse in and see if that
helps.
