You should really be trying to startup Agent itself. Agent starts up when an
application (or script) that uses it loads. Just put that a shortcut link to
the app in the system's startup folder.

So...what you are saying is to Paste a ShortCut like:

C:\WINDOWS\MSAGENT\AGENTSVR.EXE

in the folder of the program I want to use MSAgent with????

Now I'm really confused.......................

No, put a shortcut to your Agent enabled application there.

Agentsvr.exe is NOT an application. It is the set of services that
applications can use. Agent automatically starts a program programmed to use
Agent starts.

Since Win98 supports HTML pages as your desktop (wallpaper), simply create a
web page that loads the agent and use it as you desktop.

Good Luck,

Dean

Not quite. MASH was the first scripting helper to generate
any kind of scripting for Microsoft Agent. Program the
Genie and Agent Expressions were character animation viewers
without any script generation. Dov updated Program the
Genie to allow HTML script generation soon after MASH was
released, but it was limited to predefined list of
characters, as it still is, and is unable to create multiple
character scripts. AgentPad 1.0 (aka TalkPad) was released
way later than MASH, like in June-July 1998. I've got the
original from Anil with an About box if you disagree. MASH
was released in February 1998.

Stop fighting - it's a simple choice, I've tried both AgentPad and MASH, and
MASH surpasses everything that AgentPad does. Especially the interface.
Keep it up, Gordon!
