volume not found in the system

hi there, I have Acer Aspire 3692WLMi, the volume use to work perfect, until
recenrtly my friend tried to clean memory. and its not there anymore. when i
chech the hardware, it says it working corectly, but it cant find where it is
saved.
i serched for that in system as well but no luck. can anyone help me, what
should i do?
