Your work looks great (as always).

We've been waiting for you to begin creating Microsoft Agent characters
(rather than just 3D models) for years.

A very nice Einstein! I've known about your cool website and models for
years, Ming. Didn't Mitch Mattingly of Animatronix purchase the models for
his characters (like Al and Bill) from you?

thanks to everybody for the comments.
Bill was my creation which Mitch had used, but not AL, Al was other creation.
if i had more freetime, i'd do some more agents.

I did not know that Bill was your creation.  It had been available on several web sites for MS Agents.  I had this one - I have several agents saved but when I got new computer I lost many of them.  Too bad, eh?

I'm sorry...just to clarify that I only modelled Bill, Mitch is
the one who created Bill into MS Agent.

Whatever happened to Mitch?  I had heard that MS was not happy with his Bill Agent and threatened him with a lawsuit.  Does anyone know about this?

All I can remember is posting an e-mail message using agent Bill and getting FLAMED royally by persons in this forum (Microsoft employees) for it, and I felt that the agent was a compliment - not something derogatory to Bill Gate's character or reputation.  Lord knows, Bill Gates has gotten "flamed" by other entities in the media and in the courts.

I really wish you would. High quality characters don't appear too often in
the MSAgent world. ;-)

Hey, can I put Einstein in the Agent Ring Character Gallery. With links to
your site, of course.

Thanks,
Gordon

To the best of my knowledge or recollection, no Microsoft employee in this forum ever "flamed" you. (Note this message is also not intended to be a flame.) Such has never been the intent of any of our participation in this newsgroup.

However, it is possible someone may have suggested that the use of Mr. Gates image without permission may be inadvisable. Such a suggestion would have been communicated with the intent of your best interests.

Many (especially well known) individuals do protect the use of their image. So I don't think Mr. Gates would be unique if he were to protect the use of his image. Determining where a use constitutes legal or free use may be best done by consulting with a good attorney who specialize in this area.

believe me, whoever you are, I can understand and appreciate Microsoft's stand on particular issues, but since the particular agent animation in question was NOT one of Microsoft's copywritten agents (i.e., Genie, Merlin, etc.), and using animation and speech engines also not of Microsoft's making, it really puzzles me on some of the stands that some of the people representing Microsoft here have taken.  Since this incident took place at least 2-3 years ago (during the period of time I was beta testing MIllennium), I wouldn't have a copy of that communique, but believe me when I tell you that the tone of those particular messages really shocked me completely and I actually fealt threatened.  It was at that point in time that I beame privy to the experience of this particular agent's creator and that the agent was pulled from several web sites that were part of the MS Agent ring.  It absolutely defied logic that such a thing as this could actually happen.  There are more burning issues in life today than a measily little animated agent called BILL.

I'm afraid not since the Demo version of Einstein Agent is only
allowed
for personal veiwing and feedback, its not meant for redistributing
and commercially use purposes. Anyway, I appreciate your offering.
Perhaps, if I had the time later, I'd create a new character version
that
can put it in your gallery.
Thanks.

That notice will become very important once Living Actor is publicly available.

It's too bad that Living Actor is not publically available yet :-(
