I may not be the type of person you are looking for; nor do I have anything relatively interesting to give you, but I never knew there are previous versions of MSAgent out in the wild (1.0 and "AgentX" especially), I'm interested. You mind sharing more info about the versions that you've found so far? Any differences or changes compared to the 2.0 versions?

Hi, some of the versions I have found so far and actually have the files for are 1.5, 1.7, and a couple of builds of 2.0. 1.5 was the first public release of MS Agent back in 1997 and 1.7 was a beta version of MS Agent found inside of Windows 2000 Build 1701, however, it is extremely buggy and cannot run anything. As for the 2.0 builds I had, they contained mentions of a MS Agent 1.6 confirming that at point it existed as a beta just like 1.7. These earlier 2.0 builds were just like 1.7 in terms of bugs/glitches and it wasn't until the 2xxx builds that MS Agent started functioning properly. A MS Agent 1.3 also existed due to screenshots of it inside of a book documenting how to program with the MS Agent API.
As for 1.0 and AgentX, they are very different different in terms of how they worked. The documentation book for MS Agent 1.5 stated that the characters made for these beta versions would not be compatible with 1.5 and any other future release. This appears to make sense, since there is a file describing how to uninstall "Genie Beta 1" and the agent consisting of multiple files instead of just 1 ACS file. There was also a file that had the file names for several MS Agent components back then, one being AgentX.exe, which is how I was able to find out the actual name for the beta. Aside from this information, I haven't been able to find much else about them unfortunately.
