I have never posted a comment so don't even know if I am doing it correctly
but feel strongly about this so want to also add my disappointment with
Microsoft for retiring the deluxe Portfolio Manager. The new one doesn't even
come close to the deluxe. If they want to retire something, retire the new
one and leave well enough alone.
I hope Microsoft will rethink this. They should ask the users which they
prefer.

When I tried to change over to the new one, it duplicated all of my
stock splits and will not let me delete them. It just gives an error
and no help on how to fix it.

I cannot agree more with you. Have been trying to reach Microsoft to tell
them what I think of their decision, but to no avail. I just signed into
this group but do not know how to post my own message. Can you help me? I
would like to tell them also what they should do and how we feel about their
decision. Please advise. Thanks.

I followed the support links for MSN Money and got to an email address of
inve...@microsoft.com . The webpage said don't expect a reply even though
they read the emails.

I totally agree. It is a slow piece of junk. I used the old one every day
but might as well just delete this one, no use to me at all. Anyone know of
a good
Firefox ap?

I too never post, but agree. Portfolio Manager was the best most usefull
easiest to use product ever produced by Microsoft. I would have paid money
for it. Very sad day.

New one is horrible, migration is horrible.

If anyone knows of a product that is similar, please let me know

Worse yet, I never printed the portfilio manager data before the switchover--
one day it was working with a good backup on my computer.. next day they
changed it and my data isn't recognized. Anybody got a way to find the fix
for this?

I'd settle for a print of my accounts.. but better yet would be a way to
install this data in a program that works!

There is.

Find "My portfolio.mny on your computer. Make an extra copy onto
other media.

That file can be read into Microsoft Money 2006 or later, and can be
converted to Quicken thru Microsoft Money. There is a free trial of
Microsoft Money Plus Deluxe. But *don't* let that trial expire
before converting to Quicken, if that is your path. Microsoft Money
Plus or 2007 must be working for the Quicken converter to work.

Or you could just print things out from the Microsoft Money Plus
Deluxe trial.

Yes, add me to the list. I wrote a paper letter to Steve Ballmer, I was so
angry. I got a form-letter email reply from the "Response Mgt. Team". Now
that the cutover has actually happened, it's even worse than I imagined.
Doesn't even handle ETFs? At least I did print out the files. And yes, I
would love a similar decent web program to migrate to. As the world moves to
cloud computing, Microsoft has said a big screw you to customers who trusted
its online tools.
