I was previously using the Portfolio Manager Preview and liked it. Essential
Portfolio Manager and Investment Toolbox Portfolio Manager work fine, but now
Portfolio Manager Preview crashes my browser, which just stops working and
reloads the page and then crashes again, then reloads, then crashes, etc. The
error is Event ID 1000: Faulting application iexplore.exe, version
8.0.6001.18702, time stamp 0x49b3ad2e, faulting module kernel32.dll, version
6.0.6002.18005, time stamp 0x49e037dd, exception code 0xe0434352, fault
offset 0x0003fbae, process id 0x5e8, application start time
0x01ca0f0dda168b20.
How do I get this working again?

Wish I had an answer for you as the Portfolio Manager Preview crashes for me
as well with the exact same error message. For me it occurs whenever I try to
expand the "Charts and quotes" or "Latest news" boxes at the bottom. The
third box at the bottom "Transactions" can be expanded fine. I also
ocassionally get the following error message which reloads the page.

"Portfolio Manager Preview is experiencing a problem with the network or
online service. Your data cannot be sent or retrieved. Click OK to refresh
the page and try again."

When the page reloads most of my recently added transactions were not saved
so I have to reenter them all.

Reinstalled Silverlight, reset IE settings, tried disableing all add ons
other than Silverlight with no effect. None of this occurs on another
computer with IE8.

Now that they retired the old versions, I was forced into using the new
version of Portfolio Manager.
Of course it doesn't work...
I have the same problem. Ä problem with this web page caused internet
explorer to close. Internet explorer has stopped.

I tried the new version on firefox, as silverlight is supposed to work in
firefox. Yes you guess it, the new portfolio manager caused firefox to crash.

Typical....the last version when it was forced on me, of course did currency
and percentage calculations
even with emailing screenshots to Microsoft which we can't do, I got the
standard answer...we cannot
duplicate the problem.

Hopefully Microsoft monitors these pages..doubtful though, maybe they could
post a solution.
