Sounds like the .OFX file extension is no longer associated with
Money. Try right-clicking the file in Explorer, choosing Open With,
browsing to Money.exe a ticking the "always open with" box.

You could either re-install Money 2005, which requires an additional
step, which you should learn about, or you can adjust the file
associations in your unspecified operating system.
No, I still believe I'm on the right lines. I know what an .ofx file
is, and Money should handle it IF the file extensions are set up
correctly. Setting the "always open with" sorts that out, as does
Cal's suggestion of a reinstallation.

Be sure that the https:// address of your banking institution is present in
IE Tools Security - After which I cannot be really helpful
since my Windows version is french. But the third Icon
reads "Sites de confiance". Click on the button below, and
add your page. You must be connected to it.
Then activate Protected Mode, and set it to medium.
I hope someone there is someone with an English version of Windows
that can be more helpful.

With XP, here is the procedure:
Start->Settings->ControlPanel->FolderOptions->FileTypes
Select OFX-- Open Financial Exchange File .
Click Advanced. Check Confirm Open After Download unless
you would not like the pop-up box.
See that the "Actions" box contains "Open" in bold. If it is not
bold, you can select Open as the default action by clicking the
Set Default button.
Click Edit.
When you click edit, the application used to perform action
should be similar to the following line:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money 2004\System\mnyimprt.exe" %1
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money Plus\MNYCoreFiles\mnyimprt.exe" %1
WITH the quotes, and the %1 after the quote. The path will
differ based on your installation. Modify for your setup.
Application should be mnyimprt with the appropriate path.
The easy way to fix this may be to reinstall Money.
For Vista or Win7, you still would want to associate to mnyimprt.exe
and not msmoney.exe. You might need to edit the registry to get the
%1 into place.
You should learn to reinstall Money 2005, and take preparations for
the post Jan 2011 time. See other discussions on that.
