I found serious problem with currencies handling in MS Money Plus!
I set up BASE currency as USD but MS Money still try to use currency
specified in locale settings (RUR)!
It looks very bad - like MS money able to work only in US locale and only
with US currency. :-(
I have made lot of experiments - uninstalled MS money, installed again,
killed databases, created it from scratch, tried different variants of
settings... unfortunately - without positive effect. Even if I setp 1 setp
forward it finally crashed on the one of next steps or put wrong currency to
the invoice. :-(((
I'm searhing tool like MS Money and seems there are no other considerable
variants at all. :-(
But, as MS Money has serious bugs related to processing currencies and
support team keep silence about this... What I have to do?
Forget idea to use such tool and try to invent something homemade in MS Excel?
Do you see any other variants?
Regards,
Dmitry.
PS. I explain what I need:
1) incoming could be USD or UAH (mostly USD).
2) bills almost always in UAH (but sometimes could be in USD and EUR).
3) balance and so on I want to see only in USD.
Despite task looks simple seems it is impossible to configure MS Money to do
it... :-\
Basically, it seems that MSMoney reads your local currency symbol into the
program and writes that over the default local currency symbol for the
program. So in my case, it changed the symbol for Sterling into the symbo
for Euro, making the program impossibly confusing to understand for a
novice.
To fix, you need to go into Tools/Settings/Program Settings/Update
Currencies, then find your local currency, and re-write the symbol to the
currency symbol that you wish to use. In your case, you will probably find
that the dollar symbol has been overwritten everywhere throughout the
program by the Rouble symbol. So whilst you may read that you have an
account set up in Roubles, the program interprets it as a dollar account.
