Wire transfer dates

When I write a US check and deposit it in my local Panama bank, it takes 3
weeks for the money to be in my account but only several days for the check
to clear the
US account.
If I enter a Transfer showing the deposit date, it works fine for the US
account,
but the Panama account shows money that will not be available for 3 weeks.
This
can lead to overdrafts, etc.
So far, my solution has been to show a Withdrawal and a Deposit 3 weeks
apart,
but it really is a transfer.
I'm using Money 2004. Any way around this?
