Hi,

Am I reading this correctly? MOM Workgroup 2005 SP1 will NOT work on
Windows Server 2003 R2?
http://www.microsoft.com/mom/evaluation/sysreqs/default.mspx

If it's not supported, anyone knows why? Has anyone tried it anyway?

Hello CSCee44444,

It is supported, and was officially announced a few weeks ago. Update may
not have made it to the page you're looking at.

I've seen that blog but it doesn't say anything about WORKGROUP EDITION. It
just says MOM 2005 SP1 is supported on R2 which is what the official sys reqs
page says already...

I still would like to see it officially written in the sys reqs pages or
hear from someone who's done it before I proceed...

Yes, all MOM 2005 Sp1 editions including Workgroup Edition are supported on
Windows Server 2003 R2 server. It may take some time before the online
documentation is fixed on the web.

R2 is same code base as Server 2003 SP1. It even lacks the 28 patches at the
time that R2 shipped that were the difference in time between SP1 and R2. It
is merely a re-release of the OS with a bunch of "Supported" tools and
additions added to it on CD#2. I am simplifying a lot for illustrations sake
:-)
