redeploying SCOM

I currently have a test SCOM deployment with all roles on one 2003 server. I
have rolled out agents to a great many servers.
I plan to start going production. I want to go windows 2008 64bit. The
problem is I would like to use the agents that I have already deployed. I
imagine I can do that using multi-homed agents? the thing is once I have all
the agents reporting in to the new server I want to turn down the old server
and make it the sql server for SCOM. What happens to the old management
group. Can it be turned off\deleted?
