Hi,

I have some irritating error Alerts in my DHCP pack.

This alert regularly appears for all DHCP servers in the network, but when I
take a look at the error message it shows the following:

"The DHCP/BINL service on the local machine, belonging to the Windows
Administrative domain emea.corp.geaag.com, has determined that it is
authorized to start. It is servicing clients now."

So, I get an alert from the DHCP server telling me that it's working now??

How can I correct this without deactivating the whole monitor?

Hi Mirco,

If you simple close that alert, will it be generated again?

Hi Mirco,

Look at the monitor or rule, what event is triggering it? Then investigate
why the DHCP server generates that event every 12 hour. Dont think this is
a Ops Mgr issue.

Hi,

I checked the Alerts again, and it seems that new alerts are raised as soon
as a DHCP service starts.

So I guess this is a problem of the management pack, since I don't want to
read error alerts if a service start successfully.

Hi Mirco,

Ops Mgr is not generating the event, only reading your logs. The DHCP service
generate the event. Why dont you google the event that you get and see if
you can find any DHCP server related information.

In the alert it should tell you what rule generated this alert. Go to the
admin console, find this rule and there is an Enable tick box. Switch this
off and the alert will no longer appear.
