Our corporate standard is to stop the default website. Unfortunately only
30% or so of our servers are able to adhere to this standard. For many
vendor IIS apps the typical install uses the default website. Our challenge
is the IIS MP monitor "A Windows Internet Information Service Web Site is
Unavailable." catches that set of servers built to the corporate standard We
do not want to disable this monitor on a server by server basis. Does anyone
have a suggestion on how to deal with this?

Try use the advanced criteras on the rule, and filter on words in the alert
description.

The check for web sites is a monitor. It states under Configuration that
the monitor does not include any configuration settings that can be modified.

Are you in Ops Mgr 2007? Then try add the IIS sites in a group, and then
create a override and configure enable = false for that group, overide the
monitor creating the alert.
