Hi,

I am attempting to setup MIS 2002 on a Win2K Server (SP3) box and get an
error right after I start setup.

Error 1720. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package...<snip>

I then tried downloading the Eval and got the same error.

Any ideas? Not compatible with SP3?

Thanks,

cl.

Dumps me to the Finish page, click Finish, exists.

Hello Craig,

Can you confirm what is the exchange 2000 Service pack you

Thanks,

Hi Craig,

I just responded on another thread. You can get this error if the machine
is not part of a domain.

Thanks
Vanitha.

The machine is part of our domain.

One tricky part:

- All of the users and machines exist in Domain A This managed by an NT4
Server.
- There is a separate Domain, B, that is managed by a W2K Server and is
running AD. This is where Exchange 2K lives as well.

The machine where I am trying to install MIS is on Domain A.

Hi Craig,

MIS needs AD. It cannot be installed in an NT4 domain.

I assume you are following XADM: Associate an Exchange 2000 Mailbox with a
Windows NT User[exch2000kb]
ID: Q278888 to grant NT4 users rights to E2K mailboxes.

MIS hasn't been tested in this configuration, so it wouldn't be supported.

Best regards,
Vanitha
