I am currently supporting an application in testing. this app is using
ADo to connect to an Oracle Database via an MTS component. The app has
been running fine so far in testing. Here recently I had to rebuild
tha app as a result of making some fixes to portions of the app. When
the app was rebuilt and installed I received the error "Variable is
using Automation type not supported by Visual Basic." I had involved
several programmers here in the situation but no luck so far. The only
thing that has changed in the environment from the first built to this
last was that I had to have my pc reloaded as a result of registry
issues. The desktop is standard throughout the company, but it is the
general consensus that my problem is with my pc. I would be inclined
to agree but cannot identify the culprit. Any help would be great.

Since you had registry issues, COM components (ActiveX dlls and ActiveX
exes
are not registered properly any more or not registered at all or version
they are registered differes with actual version of dlls).

Reinstall ADO and any other ActiveX components your program is using.

remove MTS component and add it again

If you need a superior remote MTS component debugging tool contact me,

My company has developed an excellent product and we are marketing it
now
