I have several addresses whose latitudes and longitudes I'm trying to
obtain. As several people in this group have mentioned before, MapPoint
2004 doesn't have updates. When I tried to find the lat/long
information, some addresses didn't resolve to the right zip codes or
couldn't be found. Google Maps found them because they use Navteq 2005
data. I'm very unfamiliar with the MapPoint Webservice, but I'm
wondering -- is there a way to obtain this information using it, or
some other tool, instead of waiting till April 28 when MapPoint 2006 is
released or manually entering the data?
Many thanks,
F.
You should be able to obtain lat/lon coordinates from addresses via
the MapPoint web service (it has its own newsgroup by the way - check
out news:microsoft.public.mappoint.webservice), and the maps are
updated more frequently than the CD product. However, MapPoint .NET is
subscription based, and the pricing is two orders of magnitude above
the MapPoint CD products.

Where did you get April 28 from for the release of MapPoint 2006?.
http://geocoder.us/ if in the US
There is also one for Canada and I am sure other regions as well.
Good luck,
Jonathan
