Hi all,

I´m developing an application using the ocx control of mappoint. I have
tested my app with MP 2006 / 2009, but its seems to be failing wit the 2006
with GPS locator version.
Do you know if the last one is a completly different version?
Do I have to take into account this in the develpment?

Thanks & regards mates,
J

I've used the MP2006 version since it came out. There is no difference
between the one that is furnished with a GPS receiver, than the one without
(AFAIK). What failure are you seeing?

Hi Dick,

Thanks for the quick reply. Now is hard to know it, because my client
installed MP 2009 and problem dissapeared (lucky enough they already bought
2009 version). Do you know any link for downloading the demo version of GPS
locator in order to check it by myself?

If not, I guess it will be very complicate (if not impossible) to reproduce
the problem.

Thanks & regards,

Julio

Did you build against the 2006 object model or the 2009 object model?
If the latter then it probably won't work with 2006.
Build with 2006 and you should be okay for 2006 & later.

I don't think there is download for this. AFAIK "locator" simply means that
a GPS receiver was furnished "in-the-box" with MapPoint.

As Richard says, the MP2009 API is a superset of the MP2006 API. So, if you
want to use the same code base, you have to restrict yourself to that of
2006.
