After the installation had complete, I went to run MapPoint, but it told me
that my trial had expired and I either had to Uninstall or Purchase. This is
the first time we've ever tried installing the trial on this computer (or any
computer on our network).
How can I get this trial to work? We are not about to purchase software that
we haven't even tested yet.
Can you install the trial on another computer? I checked if this is a
known problem (I vaguely remember hearing about it already), but only
found this KB entry:

Is a trial from a previous version of MapPoint maybe still installed
on that machine?
If no in both cases, my suggestion would be to give the phone number /
support page mentioned in the KB article a try.
