Mapping a running route

I am trying to use mappoint to map out a running route. While I know that i
can use the "Measure Distance" tool to draw one out, I would prefer to use
the drawing tools and then have it tell me the distance that I've drawn.
This would allow me to draw straighter lines and add on existing drawings.
Any ideas?

Try the highlighter drawing tool - it can draw connected straight
lines, and will show the total polygon distance. (If you draw several
separate highlight polygons, you will have to manually compute the
total distance though)
