we have a developer account to use routing services at
http://staging.dev.virtualearth.net/webservices/v1/routeservice/routeservice.svc
and it suddenly stopped working - no response is returned (geocode service
continues to work). I contacted Bing Maps Enterprise Account Administration
[mp...@microsoft.com] and they said the account should have access and they
said I should post a message here. Please help. Thanks.

George,

Are you still experiencing that issue? I was just able to call the staging
route service successfully.

Hi Derek,

I'm using the Staging environment in my project (ASP.NET web app). Lately it behaves unpredictably. GetDirections method returns an erroneous route object after 3-4 tries. After GetDirections fails to find a root once then it fails every time. Please recommend how to attack the problem. The thing is that this part of my app never broke for the last 3 month.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

I've recently heard the same issue coming from a couple of people where the
response xml comes back malformed (occasionally). I believe this is only
affecting the routing web service. Let's just hope that Microsoft resolves
this on their end soon.
