However, those settings have absolutely nothing to do with the *size* of the
images. They refer to *positioning* only. There is no feature in Word that
will scale objects or images automatically when you alter page dimensions or
margin settings or anything else.

You either set the picture size relative to the original, or to an absolute
size.
