I have been using the Word Publishing Layout application for soem time and everything was working fine....until the point where the Master Page & Content Tabs disappeared. I don't what happened but most importantly I don't know how to make these tabs re-appeared.
Can you help?

Go into Word> Preferences> View, make sure the boxes are checked for both
'Horizontal Scroll Bar' & 'Status Bar'.

Thanks Bob for your prompt reply. I just did that but I still can't see the Master Page & Content Tabs...
Anything else I should do...?
Thanks

Unless you've switched to a different view I don't know what else to
suggest... There is no specific setting or Preference to hide the tabs.

Does the rest of what normally display at the bottom still appear? Is it
just this one document? Or do the tabs fail to show up in a new Pub document
as well? What about other Pub documents you've saved previously? What
happens if you use Insert> New Master?

I have the same problem. I am mid way through preparing a newsletter and can no longer access the master page to change front page. The tabs just disappeared

I not know if anyone is still looking but....
Bob's response put me on the right track. Ticking the 'Vertical Scroll Bar' in preferences gave me two tabs - 'All Contents' and 'Master Pages'. I was then able to edit the Master Pages.

Thanks Bob!

One thing missing - I had to restart the computer for the changes in the preferences to take effect! Job done. ;)
