In Word 2004's list of fonts, the important Apple Symbols font does not
appear. (I'm not talking about Symbol, I'm talking about Apple Symbols.)

Why is this?

It does on my system. It's possible your font is corrupted and needs to be
reinstalled. (Note there are three font folders: one in the main Library
folder, one in the System Folder, and one in the User / Library folder.

Note that you can also insert just about any symbol you want in Word 2004 by
using the Insert -> Symbol command from the Insert menu. Very useful new
feature.

I seem to recall I stumbled on a P-in-circle symbol the other day, though,
and now I can't find it. Damn!
