I would like to remove Mathtype - is that possible? Easy?
Chances are the one at home is a version ahead of the one at work because
you installed MathType, which takes you up to the latest version.
The recommended solution would be to install MathType everywhere. If you
don't want to pay for it, then let it degrade to MathType Lite.
This will produce a more capable Equation editor.
Cheers

Are there other problems you're having with it?

It did so but rather clumsily.
So I let it lapse to the Lite version by not upgrading.
But if at home I create a new equation, or edit one that was created at work
on Equation Editor then I can no longer use that equation at work.
Unfortunately my stuff needs to be used by a number of other people who may
or may not have Mathtype
So I must use the lowest common denominator.
Apart from the cyrillic reverse R character that is fine.
So I need to downgrade at home.
Unless I can convert the world?
Thanks

I would advise you to do a "Remove Office" then replace it.
The reason being that MathType replaces some of the software components in
Office with upgraded ones. The only way to get them out again would be to
remove the entire Office suite, then replace it, then re-update it.
Sorry about that, but I can't think of another way to hook it out.

Yes the problem is that if I create an equation at home on Mathtype Lite and
send it to work I get the message "Cannot locate the server application for
Equation.DSTM4 objects"
Would hate that to happen to a colleague.
I will do the reinstall tonight.
The reinstall (when completed correctly :-) did the job perfectly
Thanks
