I have a complex group of wordart objects that span a whole page. I
need to know how to have the group appear on every page. It will be
identical and in the background on every page, wont "move with text,"
and wont need to have text wrap to it, but text that will appear over
it will change from page to page. I basically want to have wordart as
my every-page background.

I've had a few fairly bad suggestions; Make the background a
separate, one-page doc and print hundreds of copies to use as paper
for printing the real text document. This stinks because some of the
page-specific text is in floating text boxes that need to be precisely
aligned. Another suggestion was: copy and paste it in onto every page.
This just plain stinks.

Isn't there a RIGHT way to do this?

Try inserting the group in the header.

Hi Joel,

What you're describing is called a "watermark." Look it up in Word's Help
for instructions on how to make it work.

Watermark it, which will cause it to appear on every page. Be sure to set
the brightness and contrast at appropriate levels, since you will have text
overprint it.
