Hi. Is there anyway to Print Selection of one cell or a group of
labels in a table only without having to print the whole doc? I'm
using Mac Word 2001 and Epson C80. Thanks,
Josef

Hi Josef,

Not that I can see. You could copy the text from one cell, paste it outside
the table, and then print it, however. Or you can select contiguous cells
in a row or column, copy them, paste them elsewhere and then print just
those cells.

Word offers a "Print Selected" option on its Print dialog. Use
File>Print>...

Change Print: to Microsoft Word, then check the "Print Selection Only" box
(there must BE a selection when you start).

It's OK for small jobs, but it does funny things to your headers and footers
and if you print more than a page the page numbers are those in the "job"
not the document.

Cheers

Hi John,

I tried that before I posted to Josef. When you select the text in a table
cell, the "Print Selection Only" box is greyed out. Maybe it's different in
Word X, but that's why I suggested the two workarounds.

Hi. Josef, here, again. I'm lost…

I can't find in this message what the 2 workarounds (or solutions?)
are. Yes, when I follow the instructions below (those which I did
grasp), the Print Selection option is either grayed out or missing
altogether. No, I don't understand what is meant by "Change Print: to
Microsoft Word" below. Please explain more clearly if this (print
selection of a single cell in a table) can, cannot be done.

My thanks,
Josef

Hi Josef,

By "Change Print: to Microsoft Word", John means that in the Print dialog
box, you change the print options menu from "General" to "Microsoft Word".
At least that's the type of dialog box you get with the Apple LaserWriter
driver. If you're using a different printer driver, the print dialog may be
set up differently, but somewhere you'll find the option to "Print selection
only" or "Print selected." It won't do you any good, however, because it
will be grayed out when you select a Table cell (at least in my experience).

The workarounds I referred to were in my previous post which you must have
missed. Here it is again:

You could copy the text from one cell, paste it outside the table, and then

print it. Or you can select contiguous cells in a row or column, copy them,

paste them elsewhere and then print just those cells.
