Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Power PC Hello everybody,

Is there some way to integrate the AMA citation style into the citation manager?

Thanks,

Yes there is.

1) Obtain or create the XSL for AMA Citation Style (see below)

2) In Finder, go to Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/

3) Select the Word app, right-click it (or control-click) and select Show
Package Contents.

4) Navigate to Contents/Resources/Style/

5) You’ll see XSL files in the Style folder for APA, Chicago, MLA and
Turabian. Drop your XSL file in there.

To create an XSL file, see here:
http://blogs.msdn.com/microsoft_office_word/archive/2007/12/14/bibliography-
citations-1011.aspx

NOTE: In Word 2008, you must express the XSL file in UTF-8 character set:

a. On the first line: <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”ISO-8859-1″?>
change this to: <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”utf-8″?>
b. Line 13: <xsl:output method=”html” encoding=”us-ascii”/>
Change this to: <xsl:output method=”html” encoding=”UTF-8″/>
C. Save the file as Unicode (UTF-8).

There you go: Enjoy :-)

Or try http://bibword.codeplex.com/releases/view/19778

Check the remarks section at the bottom to find out more about how to
install the style. It will work in both Word 2007 and 2008.

Thanks for posting the answer to that question! Now I have another one. When
I try to insert a bibliography (through "document elements") AMA is not
listed as an option. Is there a way to install AMA biblio. style into Word
2008 for Mac similar to how we installed AMA into the citation style manager?
Thanks!

Yes: Go to the site Yves sent you to. The instructions are there.

Hint: If you are not comfortable working on the command line in terminal,
grab someone from the IT Department to lean over your shoulder when you do
this the first time.

It is easy, but you need to keep your mind on the job :-)

Cheers

I found the answer in the FAQ!

http://bibword.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=Styles_FAQ&referringTitle=Styles#Q2

Tricky tricky! Also, I don't know a thing about command lines OR terminals,
but I still got my AMA biblio to work =)

Does anyone know why the second, third, etc. authors' names turn into
jibberish in the biblio though?

Thanks for your help!!

Thanks again

Well done! Next one who asks that question, we'll send 'em to you...
