Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I am brand new to the Mac and am having some difficulties with printing on my HP Officejet 7110 All in One machine. Specifically, the color printheads do not work and I was easily able to tell the printer to print only in black, or grayscale, when on my pc. In fact, there was an option in print preferences and the printer could be set up so it did the same each time I wanted to print something. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to get it to print just black by using the Mac and with the Office for the Mac program, or any other for that matter. The result is that nothing that is/was in a color font will print because of the printhead problem that is far too costly to try to fix. In fact, I bought another printer for photographs rather than getting a new printhead. But I like to use the 7110 for printing docs and other things that don't require any colors. Help !!!
Many thanks.

Also, is there an easy way to cut and paste in different windows on a Mac???

In OS X printer control is handled through the Print dialog, not by the
program you're using at the time you print.

In the Print dialog open the Copies & Pages list, select Print Settings,
then choose Black from the Color list.

Alternatively, you might want to experiment with the settings for ColorSync
from that same Copies & Pages list using the options for Quartz Filter.
