If I type in Garamond in Mac Word, when I open it on PCs, it changes the font. Is it possible to use PC Garamond in Mac Word? I've got like 50 different versions of Garamond on Mac Word and I don't have a clue as to which one would actually work.

Why would you have 50 different versions of Garamond? Inquiring minds need
to know!

Microsoft distributes Garamond with Microsoft Office. If you use that
version (version 2.35 from Microsoft Typography) then the PC won't change
it.

Fonts render differently on the Mac to the way they do on Windows or Linux.
For that reason, Microsoft includes fonts in its Macintosh applications that
have been tweaked to render as close as possible to the way the font of the
same name will on the PC.

For that reason, it's not a great idea to use the PC version of a font on
the Mac, unless you can't get a Mac version. The font will work perfectly
well, but it may be hinted for the PC rendering engine, and if it is, there
will be a difference to the result you get with the same font on the Mac.

On the other hand, the PC will only change a font if the user does not HAVE
a font installed. Are you sure that PC has Garamond installed?

But in Word, and version of Garamond will do, provided it is a Unicode font.
If it's an old Mac character set, it doesn't have enough characters to do a
good job, and both the Mac and the PC will be haling characters in from
different fonts to make up for the missing ones.

Hope this helps
