Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) I have a document that is only one page long, but there is a second, empty page, that I cannot delete. In order to make two columns in the second part of this document/page, I did make a section break. When I try to delete the blank page, the formatting reverts to one column.
I hope there is a solution that will allow me to keep the two-column formatting and still delete the blank page.

In order to see what you're dealing with make sure you have the non-printing
characters displayed in the document (click the button on the Standard
Toolbar or use Command+8 to toggle them on). My guess is that you inserted a
Next Page Section Break rather than a Continuous Section Break.

Thanks for the tip. I did what you suggested and found at the end of the second column, at the last possible space on the page, that a next page break was there...which I did not put there! (My continuous section break was right where I put it, at the top of the two-column section.)
So, what do I have to do to delete that next page break and the extra blank page?
The delete button only moves that break up the column.

Place the insertion point at the beginning of the section break line then
press the forward delete key (fn+delete if a notebook/compact keyboard) or
double-click the blue section break line then press delete.
