Changing the width of the style drop-down menu in Word 2011

I can't seem to find a way to do this. The way it works in previous Windows versions of Office is that you right click on the toolbar, select Customize, then you can click on a drop-down menu (i.e., font, style, size) which selects it and highlights with a thick black line around it, then you can drag the drop down from the right edge and make it wider.

This doesn't appear to be the functionality in Word 2011. I've also tried to select and drag the right edge using different key combinations while in Customize mode in Word 2011. No luck.

Any one know if it's possible to do this in Word 2011?
