how to insert multiple photos into Word 2008

Is there a convenient way of inserting multiple photos into Word at one time? Can't seem to drag and drop, or select multiple photos in the Insert menu, or use the Object palette, or use Expression Media to do this...

I want to append apprx. 50 photos to the end of report that are all stored in a single photo in my Pictures folder...any easy way of getting them into Word all at once?

Even if you could, dumping multiple objects (especially that many) into a
document at one time would create a veritable rat's nest to be unraveled -
the time & effort involved would far exceed any time "saved" doing the
multiple insertion. It's possible that an Apple Script could be written to
do it but I'm not sure, but more would have to be taken into consideration
than simply "appending" them to the end of the report.

Word is not a page layout program, so each image is better handled
individually. In fact, it might be better to print the images separately
using a graphics program & include the printed pictures rather than sticking
them in the document in the first place.

I do this same task frequently in Word 2003 under Windows XP. Office 2003 (Windows) has a mini-app called Microsoft Picture Manager that includes a limited set of image manipulation tools; but one handy feature is that you can select multiple images and choose "Send to...Microsoft Word document" [selecting alternative sizing for the photos, if desired...since my reports are typically printed 8-1/2x11 with two photos per page I don't need high res] and it inserts them all at once wherever your cursor was located in the Word document, including creating auto captions if you have that set in Word.
Works without a hitch....I would like similar functionality with Office 2008 and Mac OSX.

Unfortunately MPM isn't in the Office for Mac nor is there anything
comparable. You might use Help> Send Feedback to log your wish in the
database where it will be considered. Document its usefulness exactly as you
presented it here. Obviously no guarantees, but they do pay attention:-)

One option you might try: navigate to the folder in a Finder window, select
the images there drag them into your Word doc. That may give you a
satisfactory result.
