I have a two page word document that i would like to paste into another word
document. The problem is it is a bit more difficult than just a copy and
paste. The two page document is a basicly a brochure with lots of images and
text boxes and text. If i do a copy and paste only some of the images come
across, none of the text boxes come across and the formatting goes haywire. I
know people may suggest i reverse the process and put the second document
into the two page one but the document i am importing into is 116 pages long
so far with lots of images etc. in it already. I would like to convert the
two page document to an image file if that was possible but i am not sure if
this can be done or not. I would be grateful for any help anyone can
provide. Thank you

Instead of copy/paste try to open one of your documents. Put mouse cursor
on place where you want the other document and do Insert>file and pick the
other document. This will preserve formating.

If you want to go by this way open the 2page document - and do Print>save as
pdf and print each page into separate pdf file - so you will say from page 1
to page 1 and save as pdf and then repeat the process and say from page 2 to
page 2. This will give you 2 *image* files of your 2pages word document.

Then open the long document where you want to paste these two pages and do
Insert>picture from file and pick the first of your pdf files. Do the same
for the second pdf file.

Hope you understand, and it will help you,

The copy/paste won't work because the text content is in a separate "layer"
of the doc than the images (which have text wrapping applied) & text boxes.
You can't paste the content from both layers at the same time - even though
everything probably *did* get copied. If you simply paste Word assumes you
want to paste the text-based content, so that's what it grabs from the
clipboard... which is only natural since it is, after all, a text-based
program:)

A couple of thoughts:

You can use the Insert>File command from within the larger document.

Note: Depending of differences in formatting & where in the larger doc you
are inserting the 2-pager you may need to use one or two section breaks.

Another _possible_ option: In the smaller doc do a Command+A to Select All,
then copy. In the other doc use Edit>Paste Special - Picture (which may or
may not be available).
