Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) How does one change the color of non-printing characters in Word 2008 12.2.3 for Mac??

In previous versions, the non-printing characters were greyed, in the new version they are blue and are a *huge* distraction.

Thanks

You can turn the Off by clicking the "¶" to turn them on click it again.

Thanks. I know how to turn them on & off; but what I want to do is change their appearance/color when they are 'on' -- i.e. to change the garish blue color to grey or whatever.

Sorry, that was a design change for Office 2008 which MacBU may now regret
but there's no provision for changing it. If you use Help> Send Feedback to
register your point ‹ perhaps it will make a difference in the next release.

Hi guys. Does anyone know how to change the color of "selected" (highlighted)
text in Word 2008 for Mac? It now uses a light blue color for this purpose,
and I find it hard to see against the white background. Thanks!

Answered elsewhere... Please don't post the same question multiple times,
especially as a "me too" in an unrelated thread.

Old topic but here's solution :
1) right click on the Word2008 app icon ;
2) select "show package content" ;
3) in the folder "Contents" you have a folder called "Ressources". Here lies all the image ressources of the app. The filenames of the ones you're looking for begin with "CharVisi_" ;
4) make a backup copy of these files, just in case, and put it somewhere else ;
5) open the "CharVisi_" files in a graphic editor and change the color to what you like ;
6) save and replace them in the "Resources" folder ;
7) open or quit and restart Word2008.
8) enjoy your new non-printing characters.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but do you know how to find the same set of files for Word for Mac 2011 (Version 14.3.9)?

I looked through the Contents > Resources folder in the Word app and cannot see anything like the "CharVisi_" files you mentioned.

Appreciate your help.

Just to say thank you to 'ikkyu...' Means I can now type in Word 2008, instead of working in Word X and pasting it into a 2008 Word document.
