In Office for Mac, I understand that PowerPoint and Entourage can do Arabic OK. But this script is NOT supported in Word, and there is no way to fix that.

Microsoft Office for Mac does not support right-to-left text.

PowerPoint doesn't do RTL either, but because it creates text as graphics it
can display it. The other applications can not.

It is unlikely that right to left will come to Mac Office soon.

Microsoft Office for Windows has supported right-to-left for several years.
It uses the Microsoft Windows text engine to do this. Mac Office can not
use the Windows text engine.

You can run Windows and Word for Windows on any Intel Mac, and it works
quite well. This is one method to enable you to work in Arabic on your Mac.

Look at http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/ for more information.

Cheers

Solve

How to write Arabic or Left-to-Right Languages in Word 2011. I am using MacBook Pro.
Alright, i tried this Tweak and it works well for me.
- Go to WINDOWS PC;
- Open a word document
- Write any Arabic or Pashto sentence (from right to left) and save it to ".doc" format.
- Save it to USB flash drive.
- Open that File on Ms Word 2011 on a MAC
- Save the file as Word Micro-Enabled Template (dotm), pick a name you want for that Template.
- Close, quit the Ms Word and open again.
- Now Select That Template instead of BLANK template.

You should be able to write full Arabic sentence with no problem.

Note: do not forget to Add Arabic language to Keyboard preference on MAC itself and switch to it when you are trying to type on Arabic. If you already done that, it should not an issue to switch between different languages as needed.

In addition, You could create a Word Document using docs.google.com and save it to USB flash Drive
