Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Power PC Hi, The documents where I work are all created from templates. The header of the templates include a logo, line and text. When I try to print just selected pages from the document, i.e. pages 19-21, the logo and line do not print. If I print the entire document everything prints. The documents based on these templates almost always have section breaks.

I have been reading the other posts with similar problems. All my preferences are set correctly. I have tried anchoring the logo to the text in the header and can get that to print, but I still can't get the lines to print. I have tried several documents and gotten the same results. Any ideas? Sounds like a bug to me.

I have recently upgraded to 2008 and never had this issue with 2004.

This is "normal operation" in Word.

The headers and footers are not part of the page, they are stored in the
section breaks of the document. Usually, they are stored in the LAST
section break, which is beyond the final paragraph in the document where you
cannot see it.

If your print range does not include the section breaks, the headers and
footers are not there to be printed and so are not included in the print
job. Neither are the page numbers :-)

This is not a "new" function, every version of Word has been like this.

Hope this helps

Where do include the section breaks? I don't see this in the preferences.

Same setup as original question. My document has no sections. Header has text and page numbers, and these appears in Print View, not not in Print Preview or on printed pages.

In article <db46541b-21a5-45e4...@googlegroups.com>,
I don't know what setup the original poster had (sometimes we get
responses through Google Groups to postings that are years or even
decades old and thus long expired off news servers), but given your
description of the problem, is it possible that the header text is
too near the top of the page and can't be printed?
