After playing with various settings, I was able to get the envelope to print but the text was oriented on envelope upside down and skewed off the envelope such that the return address was partially lost.

Reversing the envelope feed setting in Word so the addresses were oriented correctly but now the return address printed in the upper-right corner and the mailing address was lost completely.

I didn't realize that printing an envelope would require such uncommon knowledge of Word.

Incidentally, envelopes and odd paper sizes are a no-brainer in Word for Windows and have never caused me a problem.

Please help.

First do not change printer setting in page setup for the documents.

Go to tool menu and choose print envelopes

Next choose set yup from with that chose appropriate envelop #10
Standard Business letter.
Now the orientation will depend upon printer. you may have to waste two
or three cheap envelopes to find setting. Also, you have to feed
envelopes either face down, or face up and the Flap pointed either left,
or right. right once you get everything setup save the setting. Then
when your Envelop is showing it will appear in landscape view on screen
if everything is okay you have choice to either attach to document, or
save as separate file. I prefer as separate file.

The envelope is a custom size (as stated in the initial post).

Your instructions describe exactly how I initially tried to print the envelope and I later discovered that the addresses probably did print but there was no paper at those locations to receive the ink. That is why I started playing with Page Setup.

But I just followed your directions and here are the results (size as described earlier):
Face down, Clockwise rotation unchecked: Return address prints in the upper-right of the envelope (where the stamp would be placed) and mailing address is off the page.

Face Down, Clockwise rotation checked: Addresses are entirely off the page.

I thought perhaps that the envelope was slipping so I paid particular attention and did not notice anything that would suggest that that happened.

You can adjust Margins as well Top and bottom an side to side as well
while setting up as well. you can when viewing the envelope drag margin
down or to the right to size.

Its like two page setups only the one for envelopes is unique to
envelopes.and the one for standard printing is for documents

oh and try either Clockwise up arrow or counter clockwise down arrow and
feed the envelope the same direction either flap to right or flap to
left. then try face down or face up the same way. until you get right
combination. remember to try on cheap envelopes until you get set right.
Write down steps, steps and keep until you get memorized. each new type
envelope the only thing different will be the size used.

Go back and make sure that page orientation for normal Document, (not
Envelope) is set to Portrait as you normally would for a document. This
affects envelopes as well. You set only the envelope setting for envelope.

I checked my Normal template and it is indeed Portrait.

I continue to be frustrated and confused but am giving up. This simply isn't worth the effort so I'll resort to the PC to print envelopes this size.

Have you tried updating your Print Driver.

If that does help Perhaps you need a Dymo Label Printer I picked up a
400 model less than $100.00 (not counting Tax). I can use that to make
Labels. and place labels where I need on envelops when I don't need to
open Word, It also is supposed to work with word as well.

Yes. I checked the driver before I posted the first time and it was already the most current. That was a common suggestion for posts of this nature but no update was necessary.

The firmware in the printer *was* updated as that was down-rev by several levels but doing so had no affect with regards to printing these envelopes.

I truly appreciate your suggestions and insights but this issue isn't worth any more effort. My PC prints envelopes easily so I can still send resumes and such out that have a professional appearance.

Thanks again. If I find something that resolves this issue, I'll repost with an update.

Your reply was to a different user with a slightly different problem and was to be sure that the Drawing Objects checkbox was checked.

I did and it was.

My problem is that I do get text on the envelope but it is oriented incorrectly on the envelope and partially lost. The query you responded to was for no print showing at all.
