Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Some of my ppt files take a long time to open. I have waited 10 to 15 minutes for them to open and then I force quit. I have seen, on the forum, where people have mentioned this problem but I did not see a solution. Please help me out.

Nobody can offer a solution until they know what thee problem is & that
can't be determined until you look beyond the *symptom* & provide the
necessary details :-)

Exact update level of Office?

Exact update level of OS X?

Have you repaired disk permissions & restarted your Mac lately?

Have you run Apple's Font Book to Validate fonts & Resolve Duplicates?

What specific type of PPT file (what is the extension?)?

What is the origin of the files presenting the problem? Where are they
stored (local HD, file server, external HD, USB Stick????)

What is the nature of the content in the files?

What other details can you supply?

Exact update level of Office? - 12.2.4

Exact update level of OS X? - 10.5.8

Have you repaired disk permissions & restarted your Mac lately? - Yes, yesterday while I had a mac tech on the phone for an hour. Moved the "plist" to the desktop too, I don't exactly know what that means...

Have you run Apple's Font Book to Validate fonts & Resolve Duplicates? -No, please give me directions on how to do this.

What specific type of PPT file (what is the extension?)? - .ppt, I have also had issues with .pptx losing images.

What is the origin of the files presenting the problem? Where are they
stored (local HD, file server, external HD, USB Stick????) - Saved on desktop, also saved to local HD while working with mac tech. Had same issues in both cases, mac tech referred me to this website.

What is the nature of the content in the files? - 390 MB file, 100+ slides with many images, video clips, entrance and exit animation and motion paths. Had same issues when presentation was broken in to two halves. Same presentation opens within seconds on my pc and runs like a top. Have been able to run nearly 1GB presentations with same type content on Toshiba laptops.
