Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Intel

I can't seem to find a way of animating just one bullet or line of the slide (it only animates all bullets, even if one at a time)... it only works if i paste the given line in a text box. Is there any way i can animate just one bullet while the rest of the slide remains still??

Have a look at the additional setting at the bottom of the Custom Animation
palette.

If you don't find an answer with CyberTaz's suggestion, try the following ...

When you view the "Custom Animation" section of the formatting palette, you will see either "Content Placeholder" (if the content was created in PPT 2008) or "Rectangle" (if the content was created in an earlier version).

In either case, there will be a triangle to the left of this. Click on the triangle to expand the list to show all the bullets. Select the ones you don't want animated and delete them.
