Why is Powerpoint crashing when I launch it

I have Powerpoint as part of Office 2001 on my blue and white G3 running
System 9.2.1.

As soon as I launch the app, it crashes. I've reinstalled it from the CD,
same thing happens.

This is really annoying.

Any ideas?

i have the same problem with Excel X, Word X and
Powerpoint X. all 3 unexpectedly quit when launching.
but entourage x, explorer 5.1 and MSN Messenger all
work fine.

i have a g4 with osx 10.1.5 and 640 mb of ram.

folder:preferences:microsoft

or a corrupted font. You could try removing all on Apple files from
System folder:fonts and relaunch the application, you could also try
using a font repair utility (or at least a demo, I think there is one
for Font Doctor at http://MorrisonSoftDesign.com/docs/fd_mac.htm ).
