You might have a look at the File> Send To> MS Word options & see if
something there might not be preferable.
For other options you might check in with the Widows PPt group - I don't
have 2002 available here:

You're using Windows, not Mac, correct? This is a Mac group. You really want
to post your questions in the regular PPT Windows group. But since we're here
..
A PRN file simply captures the data that Windows would ordinarily send to your
printer. No programs can open PRN files (with a few exceptions for PostScript
files). Unless someone else has the same printer you do and knows how to copy
PRN files to it (we just ruled out most of the planet) PRN files are pretty
much useless.
You'll probably be better off sending a PDF.
