Just received a new MacBook Pro (Intel Dual Core) and have run into a problem with PP, that may or may not be attributed to it running omn Intel.

When I try to insert a chart object into a slide and the datasheet pop open, I cannot enter any information into any of the cells. I can delete or erase existing data, but I cannot insert new data into any cell whatsoever.

My workaround is to use Excel than copy & paste into the PP slide.

Any clues as to what the problem may be?

Hi Gregg,
Thanks for posting this. I just tried this scenario on my intel dual core imac and office 2004 (11.2)  and I do not repro this issue. Can you please let me know what version of office you are using .. Once I have that information I will investigate this more and let you know if I have any update.
Thanks,
Priyanka

Same version as you – 11.2

Weird.

It’s almost as if the keyboard isn’y being rtecognized, save for the delete key. All keyboard inputs handled normally outside of PP’s charting function though

Re: Charts Problem using a MacBook ProHello Gregg,

I'm still in the process of investigating this but can you try this and tell
me if this helps?

Go into your ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft folder and delete or move (to
another location) the two files below. By ~, I mean your home
directory/folder.
com.microsoft.Graph.prefs.plist
Microsoft Graph Toolbars (11)

Afterwards, try re-inserting your graph and typing in the cells. Please
reply to the group as to whether this helps.

Thanks,
Andrew

Andrew:

Did as you advised and it seems to be working like a charm.

Am assuming I should keep those files removed for time being...any downsides or work-arounds I need to be aware of?

Thanks for the help!

Gregg

Re: Charts Problem using a MacBook ProHello Gregg,

Deleting those two files shouldn't cause any problems other than you losing
any toolbar customizations and prefs for the Graph app.
