Rotating an object in PowerPoint

I have a PowerPoint slide I created with multiple "gif" images. I can
rotate the images without any issues on my end, but my client, who is
on a PC, can't rotate any image using PowerPoint 2000. Seems like a
dumb issue, but I can't figure it out. I even tried inserting the
graphics to Word so my client could change the direction of the images
in Word and then copy and paste it into PowerPoint, but that doesn't
work either. Is this a MAC/PC Microsoft Office issue?

Windows PowerPoint 2002 can rotate bitmap images, but earlier versions
can't.
