Powerpoint docs on the Mac:

I'm pulling my hair out!

I have been translating PPT presentations into Acrobat PDFs and then
using these images to create print posters. All was fine, until we
started working with a (digital) printer who needs all items to be
submitted in a CMYK format.

Does anyone know how to translate PPT docs into CMYK, or alternately
convert PDFs into CMYK? The printer has been pulling the PDFs into
Photoshop, with mixed results. My client is a "good guy" and the
printer is charging an arm and a leg. It would save him money if I
could figure this out for him.

And I would be eternally grateful.

Thanks, Dianne

There are plug-ins for Acrobat that should be able to do RGB to CMYK
conversion.
Check places like www.planetpdf.com and www.pdfzone.com

A more competent printer would have this sort of software on hand already or
would have a more modern RIP that can do in-rip separations even of RGB
data. Sometimes you're stuck with the printer you have, though ... gotta
deal with it.
