Is there a Power Point Viewer for Mac OS X that allows me to view
powerpoint presentations created on a windows PC. I've got the
Powerpoint 98 viewer which only works in OS 9 and, quite frankly, its
crap. It doesn't let me print out lecture notes and when I print out
slides it ends up cutting half the slide off, despite having the
global page size set for A4. I need to be able to access college
lecture notes, which are invariably in Power point format from home.
There's always the route of buying Office vX but even at £125 for the
student edition its a bit steep when all I want to do is view and
print presentations. I have Appleworks 6.2 which is perfectly adequate
for my word processing, spreadsheet and presentation making needs. If
there isn't a viewer as yet are Microsoft (or a third party) planning
to release one soon?

Thanks

Robert

The only version of the PowerPoint Viewer works in Classic. I don't know if
Microsoft plans to release a new one. The only options for viewing
PowerPoint presentations directly in OS X are to use PowerPoint X (buying
that or Office X) or using ThinkFree Show (a component of ThinkFree Office):
